Reliability Engineering Leader – Alternative Renewable Energy
 
This company has been recognized as the world leader in the development of control systems for Alternative Renewable Energy. In the role of Reliability Engineering Leader you will develop and lead a reliability group whose function is to set reliability requirements and provide technical support in product/process design and development. The group will also provide technical leadership and support in supply chain management to achieve “zero” defect components.
The group will provide technical leadership and guidance in quality assurance, in-production fallout analysis, non-conforming product control and FMA. The group shall drive for continuous improvements.
 
Responsibilities:
 

 

  • Address ongoing reliability issues with existing product line.
    • Establish reliability of existing products
    • Determine product life expectancy
    • Recommend changes to existing products to improve reliability
    • Establish accelerated reliability testing procedures for Solar applications
  • Insure reliability is designed into all new products
    • Conduct reliability reviews during the design process
    • Uses reliability modeling tools to evaluate and predict product life
    • Develops and conducts testing plans based on reliability expectations 
    • Develop and maintain AE design, component, material and manufacturing standards
    • Research, understand, and document agency standards and monitor compliance to those standards

 
 
Technical experience and skills:
 

 

  1. Minimum 10 years of experience with electronic component/assembly development and/or qualifications.
  2. Have experience with reliability analysis.
  3. Have detailed expertise in the following area
  4. Mechanical/thermal/electrical stress analysis (preferably familiar with Finite Element Analysis)
  5. Failure physics for electronic and/or optical material and components
  6. Knowledge of Statistics and accelerated life testing.
  7. Circuitry analysis and testing.
  8. Materials analysis, characterization and testing

 
Management experience and skills:
 

 

  1. Minimum 5 years experience to lead or influence effectively in a cross-organizational team.
  2. Proven experience of quality/reliability management with (electronic component) suppliers.
  3. Experience to provide technical lead and coordination in FMA activities.
  4. Ability to identify key issues and promote improvements in design, development and production with balanced views.
  5. Experience of production quality assurance is highly desirable

 
Job Requirements:
 

 

  1. Bachelor Degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering.
  2. Black Belt or Green Belt Certified
  3. Experience working with sales, marketing, manufacturing, quality and customers is required.
  4. Ability to be a self starter and move projects forward with minimal supervision.
  5. The candidate should have good project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  6. Experience in interpreting applicable agency standards (i.e. UL/CSA/TUV/IEC/etc)
