       Pharmaceutical Process Engineer


  • Industry leading supplier of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients for some of the most recognized names in pharmaceutical products has an immediate need for a Senior Process Engineer to lead their effort to create NEW and improve EXISTING components marketed for pharmaceutical use in solid dosage formulations.




  • Compliance with cGMP’s is a very important part of this position, as is completion of all required documentation, such as project initiation and product development reports, equipment selection and suitability, cleaning studies, creating batch records, stability testing and storage conditions, optimization studies, analytical methods, etc.


  • Develops processing techniques with new or existing equipment to deliver products to meet customer expectations The products that we develop will generally be excipients of excipient/API combinations that require some form of further processing or co-processing, including unit operations like fluid bed granulation, other types of agglomeration, fluid bed drying, spray drying, solids mixing, size reductionand classification, and coating systems. Experience with liquid processing, PLC control systems is also a benefit. Works with Business Management and Product Development on line extensions, customized offerings, or new products suited to Company's growth strategy.


  • Demonstrated knowledge as a processing specialist and plays a key role in operational strategy, yields, cycle times, operating costs and variance.


  • Trouble shooting and optimization of existing products and creating process improvements plans.


  • Assist in the identification of and justification for capital expenditures related to equipment and resource purchases required to support new product development and optimizations.



  • B.S. Chemical Engineering or related engineering or science required plus 5 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing of excipients, API’s and/or finished dosage forms in a pharmaceutical environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in pharmaceutical process development, andmanufacturing processes such as granulation, agglomeration, drying, size reduction, powder flow improvement.
  • Project management skills, for example, understanding of the multi-functional project needs, critical path, developing time lines, and gaining support from the project team.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, when needed.
