Job Description:
As an Embedded Design and Development Engineer you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects that will require you to use your skills in the following areas:
Architecting stable, efficient, and scalable systems upon which world-class embedded software applications can easily be built.
Designing maintainable, elegant, and lasting solutions to meet a wide variety of requirements and feature sets.
Working closely with a team of other highly skilled computer engineering professionals to deliver top-quality software/hardware to the end user.
Balancing a variety of tasks related to requirements gathering, user interface design, real time operating systems, database design, software development, testing, trouble-shooting, and software maintenance.
Mentoring and coaching colleagues to expand the effectiveness of those around you.
Assuring a high standard of quality in your own work and in the work of others on your team via good coding practices, process improvements, clean designs, and smart testing and review practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Math.
3 or more years of industry experience in the field of embedded software/hardware development.
Some experience in several of the following areas is highly recommended:
Real Time Embedded Systems.
Real Time Operating Systems programming.
High-level object oriented programming languages such as C#, C++, or Java.
Enterprise-level source control (MKS, Team Foundation Server, etc.)
Socket programming and/or software-hardware communications interface programming.
Networks and network/communications protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP, RS232, etc.
Multi-threaded application design and development.
Hardware development of microcontrollers or microprocessors controlled circuits using 8/16/32 bit processors.
Protocol development.
Distributed and Centralized Systems.
